The development of The Cannery in Davis, CA has made significant progress over the past year and Livable Design has been thrilled to be a part of the process by reviewing 18 floor plans so far which have all received the Seal of Approval. Incorporating universal design into this 100-acre master planned community was a priority for the City of Davis, and virtually every home will have the Livable Design Seal of Approval to satisfy this need. With eight different housing types and 24 total floor plan layouts, this neighborhood promises a livable option for everyone!
The New Home Company received Seals of Approval for two housing types at The Cannery. Heirloom which features a townhome design, includes 4 floor plans. With wider stairways and stepless entries at the garage, urban living has never been more convenient.
New Home Company’s larger and more traditional park homes, called Sage, have 4 plans with up to 6 bedrooms and 3700 square feet. These homes include great features such as stepless patio access and beautiful curbless showers.
Shea Homes earned the Seal of Approval for their Persimmon and Tilton floor plans. Persimmon consists of 3 floor plans featuring air filters placed at a reachable height and open kitchens with easy-to-reach ovens and microwaves.
Tilton has 4 distinct floor plans all offering stepless approach to the front entry from the driveway, wide bathtub ledges and closet systems that provide plenty of easy-to-access storage.
Standard Pacific Homes received the Seal of Approval for the 3 floor plans that make up the Beech Court Homes. These plans include extended overhangs at the front entries to provide protection from the weather, added illumination in key areas of the home and easy-to-reach outlets and light switches. Ryland and Standard Pacific are now CalAtlantic Homes and models are not yet complete, but we will update with photos once they become available.
The commitment to innovation and quality by everyone involved with The Cannery is sure to make this development a success. We are happy to be part of such a wonderful project and to see livable features being incorporated on such a grand scale.
